Busy Saturday!...

Last Saturday we had such a busy--but FUN day together as a family!  First, we ate lunch out in Glendale and dropped Emie off for her volleyball tournament at a Glendale high school.  She has been playing club volleyball with a club called Molten.  This was a BIG decision, since we have never let our kids play a club sport before, since we have so many kids, and it is such a big commitment.  But we felt like it would really give her a chance to improve in volleyball and make the team next year.  She has improved so much already--and is playing libero (back row specialist) for her team that's why in the pictures she has on the red jersey--so people know who the libero is.  Emie has been working SO hard!  She not only practices/plays volleyball two or three nights a week, plus Saturday tournaments, she also made the Freshman Softball team at Highland, and has been practicing every day after school!  I don't know how she's managing it, but she is also pulling a 4.3 GPA, with 3 honors classes, and is ranked 30th in a class of over 700!  Emie truly AMAZES me with her ability to stay on top of her grades, and also work hard in sports! After we dropped her off, we headed over to the Cardinal Stadium in Glendale for the International Sportsmen's Expo, where they have hunting and fishing exhibits and outfitters from all over the country.  Todd was in heaven--and the kids had a great time!  After we were done there, we headed back over to Emie's tournament to watch her play the last two games.  Things got a little heated when we played the last match for 3rd place--the other team was complaining that our fans were being too loud, (when we heard that, we just yelled louder), and that our kids who were sitting on the floor were trying to trip them while they were serving.  Of course, our kids never tried to trip anyone--it was just close quarters since the gym was set up with two nets instead of one--but Emie told me last night when I picked her up from practice that her coach received a 6 page letter of complaint with all kinds of stupid allegations.  Being too LOUD at a volleyball tournament?  C'mon!  They were just sore because our girls ended up pulling out a super close match and won 18-16 in the 3rd game.  We were so proud of them--they have really pulled together as a team, and improved a LOT over the last few weeks.  Go MOLTEN!  Love you Em !  We had such a fun day with our family--and everyone even got along for the most part!  I love these guys!
