So Funny...

This is something I found when I was cleaning up the basement in the cabin, and I thought it was so cute. It was something Abby and her cousin Kyle worked on the day before. So cute...any buyers??? I especially love the picture of the guy sitting on the tree stump, bored, alone and with a lot of money. AWESOME!

Fun at the Cabin...

The day after Christmas Chris and Katie's families (Todd's brother and sister) joined us up at the cabin. The kids are so lucky to have AWESOME cousins, on both sides of the family that they love to spend time with. They had so much fun together playing in the snow, and at the cabin. The adults had a great time talking, relaxing, and EATING! We had a great prime rib dinner--(just a note--a 10 lb. prime rib takes a LONG time to cook!). It was worth the wait! We also watched all of the Mummy movies--and "A Christmas Story" a few times (classic--I love that movie)! Todd, Shaun and Chris took the kids out on the 4-wheelers, and made a makeshift super sled out of Grandpa's canoe in the garage. I don't have pictures of that--the picture I had in my head was scary enough! They had a great time--and thank goodness, no broken bones! What a fun weekend!

Merry Christmas!

In Todd's family it's tradition to have the kids wait on the stairs until Mom and Dad are ready for them to come down. We line them up, and don't they look cute in their new PJ's? That's another tradition, that I love--it guarantees that they will all have good looking PJ's for Christmas day pictures! Well, when the kids got down there, they read a letter from Santa saying that he stopped by the cabin because he saw smoke in the chimney--and ate their yummy doughnuts they left for him--the only problem? He had already left their presents back in MESA. Man, what terrible parents, we forgot to tell them to mention that we would be out of town in their letters to Santa! OOPS! Sorry kids! But we still had a great time opening gifts from us, and from our aunts and uncles. We had a great Christmas dinner at Kimbie and Christians house in Payson, with my parents. All in all, it was a great Christmas! We hope yours was merry as well!
We played Twister on Christmas Eve, to see who opened their PJ's first!

I'm Dreaming of a WHITE Christmas!

We headed to the Cabin on Tuesday to get up to the SNOW for Christmas! There's just something special about being in the mountains and the snow for Christmas. This year we also had some GREAT snow gear, coats, and gloves that I bought on sale last year after the season. That makes the snow SO much more enjoyable for the kids! (Most of it came from K-Mart by the way--who knew?). The kids had so much fun building a snowman, and sledding down the huge hill in front of the cabin. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for letting us use the cabin while you're gone. We had such a BLAST! What a beautiful Christmas eve! LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!
(For a few days anyway, then I'm happy to go back to the HOT!) :)

Allen Family Party~

We had 54 people at our house on Sunday for the Allen Family Christmas Party--it was pretty crazy considering that over half of those people are kids! It was tons of fun though. We
demolished a whole 22 pound ham, and a turkey breast, potatoes, and couple of Sue's yummy sheetcake recipes. Christmas even came to us from Jerusalem, via Bob's counselor in the Branch Presidency there, who works in Israel for the consulate, and came to AZ for the Christmas holiday. That was a nice surprise, and they were able to bring us gifts straight from Jerusalem. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa--the gifts were AWESOME! We missed you! We forgot the costumes for the nativity, so we just read the story and sang the songs, so the pictures aren't as good--but the spirit was there, and it was so much fun. Thanks everyone for the awesome time--we are so grateful for a great family who loves and supports eachother!
Gifts from Jerusalem!!

Grandma and Grandpa gave the girls awesome GENIE pants!

My super awesome cleaning crew kept the party going all night with Guitar Hero--Girls, YOU ROCK! Thanks for the help!
